For street vendors + sidewalk vendors + carts + tamaleros

AI Receptionist for Street Vendors + Sidewalk Carts

Tamaleros, eloteros, paleteros, sidewalk carts, loncheras, fruit-cart vendors — distinct from /for/food-trucks (you don't have a Google Calendar, you have 'am I at the spot today'). Location-privacy on demand (regulars know where you are, sheriff fishing calls do not). ICE-raid-at-the-cart panic-word posture (safety.ts rule 11e extension). ITIN-friendly onboarding (no SSN required, no EIN required). Mexican Indigenous (Mixteco/Zapoteco) + Central American Mayan (K'iche'/Q'anjob'al/Mam) language gaps disclosed honestly.

What your callers hear

Hola, este es el AI de Tami — ¿están buscando los tamales de hoy? Si eres regular, dame tu número y te ubico. Si es la primera vez, mándame un texto al número para confirmar.

Built for the calls street vendors + sidewalk vendors + carts + tamaleros actually get

Wait-time + 'am I at the spot today' intake

Different from food trucks: no Google Calendar, no Saturday slot booking. Regulars call asking 'are you at MacArthur today?' / 'are you near the bus stop tonight?' / 'is Doña Tami working the corner?'. The AI captures your day-of location from your owner-side dashboard (you flip 'at the spot' / 'rained out' / 'sheriff swept' on your phone in 2 seconds), then quotes the location ONLY to verified-callback callers or your regulars-list (R15 location-privacy mode).

ICE-raid + sheriff-sweep panic-word posture

If you call your own AI from your own number mid-raid ('ICE is here', 'sheriff is loading us into the van', 'they're seizing the cart'), the AI (safety.ts rule 11e WORKER-AT-OWN-BUSINESS-MID-RAID variant) acknowledges in 5 words, SUPPRESSES all location-disclosure to ALL subsequent callers for 4 hours (rolling soft-lockdown), pulse-pages every owner-configured delegate via SMS with the verbatim quote, and holds bookings without confirming presence. Panic-word activation; you don't have to remember a code.

Location-privacy on demand (regulars vs. fishing callers)

Sheriff snitch-lines + hostile callers don't get your location. The AI quotes location only to: (a) callers on your regular-customer allowlist (configurable from the dashboard — Doña Carmen who walked the wrong way + your wholesale bodega buyers), (b) verified-callback callers (the AI texts a code to the caller's number, caller reads code back, gets location), or (c) public-greeting fallback ('I'm somewhere on the corridor today — text me at this number to confirm before walking'). Default: NEVER blasts location to random callers.

ITIN + EIN-not-required onboarding

If you're undocumented, no DACA, no TPS, or otherwise can't get an SSN, RingDispatch onboarding accepts an ITIN (Individual Taxpayer Identification Number). EIN not required either — sole proprietors using their own ITIN are fine. /accessibility (Refugee + humanitarian-parole entrepreneurs section) covers this; R15 surfaces it here on the vertical page where you'd actually look.

Mexican Indigenous + Central American Mayan elder customers

Your abuelitas in MacArthur Park speak Mixteco / Zapoteco / Otomí / Nahuatl / K'iche' / Q'anjob'al / Mam — these are NOT supported by our voice synthesis provider (R14 disclosure). They will hear English / Spanish fallback. Tex-Mex / Norteño Spanish dialect coverage gap is also disclosed (Eduardo is chilango, not Tex-Mex). If your customer base is heavily Indigenous Mexican or Mayan elder, email hello@ringdispatch.com before signing up — we'd rather lose your business than have you discover the gap after paying.

Cost honesty for sub-$2k/month vendors

$107/mo is 6% of revenue if you earn $1,800/mo. For high-volume tamaleros (weekend rush $400 + weekday $80 = $2,000+ months) the math is borderline. For low-volume (single-mom weekend tamale stand earning $1,000/mo total), the math doesn't work — voicemail is probably still right for you. There's no sub-$50 micro tier yet; we're considering one. Email if you'd buy at $49/mo for 50 calls.

How it works for street vendors + sidewalk vendors + carts + tamaleros

  • At-the-spot dashboard toggle (no calendar, no Google integration)

One-tap from your phone (or your partner's phone): 'at the spot' / 'rained out' / 'sheriff swept' / 'going to commissary' / 'home with sick kid'. The AI quotes your status truthfully to verified callers.

  • Regular-customer allowlist (Doña Carmen knows where you are; sheriff fishing-line does not)

Mark phone numbers as 'regular customer' from your dashboard. Those numbers get full location-disclosure; everyone else gets soft 'I'm in the corridor today — text me to confirm' fallback. Reversible per-number.

  • Panic-word activation (rule 11e mid-raid variant)

Saying 'ICE is here' / 'sheriff is loading us' / 'they're sweeping' / 'la migra' in a call FROM your own number triggers 4-hour rolling soft-lockdown: no location disclosed to anyone, all delegates pulse-paged, bookings held.

  • ITIN-friendly billing (no SSN required)

Onboarding accepts ITIN, EIN, or even foreign-tax-ID with state-equivalent. We do not require a SSN to provision your business line.

FAQ for street vendors + sidewalk vendors + carts + tamaleros

Sheriff or LAPD vice fishing calls — does the AI tell them where I am?

No. Default is location-private — only your regular-customer allowlist + verified-callback callers get location. Random calls get a soft 'I'm in the corridor today — text me to confirm.' Mark sheriff / hostile callers explicitly on the blocklist (rule 21d) for the harder refusal.

ICE shows up at the cart and I call my own AI — what happens?

Safety.ts rule 11e WORKER-AT-OWN-BUSINESS-MID-RAID variant: the AI acknowledges in 5 words ('I hear you — logging now'), SUPPRESSES location-disclosure to ALL subsequent callers for 4 hours, pulse-pages every delegate via SMS with the verbatim quote, and holds bookings without confirming presence. Panic-word, no special code needed.

I'm undocumented + ITIN-only. Can I sign up?

Yes. Onboarding accepts ITIN. No SSN required. No EIN required for sole proprietors. /accessibility documents this in the Refugee + humanitarian-parole entrepreneurs section; R15 surfaces it here too.

I earn $1,800/mo — is $107 worth it?

Borderline. 6% of revenue. If your weekend rush is bookable ($400 Sundays) and you lose calls to busy signals, the math probably works. If you're below $1,500/mo total, voicemail is probably still right for you. No sub-$50 micro tier yet — email if you'd buy at $49/mo.

Mexican Indigenous (Mixteco / Zapoteco) abuelitas — does the AI handle them?

Honestly — NO native voice. Mixteco / Zapoteco / Otomí / Nahuatl / K'iche' / Q'anjob'al / Mam Mayan languages are NOT supported by our voice synthesis provider. Elders calling in those languages hear English / Spanish fallback. We disclose this honestly on /languages BEFORE you pay. If your customer base is heavily Indigenous Mexican or Mayan elder, email us before signing up.

Tex-Mex / Norteño Spanish — is Eduardo the right voice for me?

Eduardo is Mexican (chilango / Mexico City accent). Tex-Mex / Norteño / Rio Grande Valley border-Spanish callers will clock the DF accent immediately. R14 disclosed this on /languages dialect-caveats. If your customer base is heavily Tex-Mex / Norteño, we don't yet have a native voice — disclosed honestly so you can decide.
